For years Ronda Rousey vs. Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino was the Mayweather-Pacquiao of UFC. Following Rousey’s first loss at the hands of Holly Holm, a new superfight may have emerged. And it may be much easier to make.
Holm said she’s not only willing to fight Cyborg, but she’d consider fighting at 145 pounds, the weight Cyborg fights at for Invicta.
Cyborg: Ronda Rousey Will Be Running From Me Now
“I know with the UFC, they don’t have that division,” Holm said. “So, if that was something that they were going to put together, I’m not against it. I’m open to it.”
While Rousey was one of combat sports’ most dominant athletes ever until Holm knocked her out, size was a major issue complicating a potential bout. In addition to Cyborg’s history of steroid use – which Rousey never failed to highlight – she is simply bigger than Rousey, and Rousey said she would not move up to fight her.

Holm, however, considers herself a big bantamweight capable of moving up.
“I don’t know how high I would go. I have fought at heavier weights in boxing. It kind of changes things with MMA, because there’s wrestling,” Holm said.
“Boxing, I think, is a little different, because you’re not dealing with somebody’s strength and weight on you as far as wrestling and grappling. But I do feel like I’m a bigger 135er. I don’t know. I guess I would just have to see if whatever would unfold if that was an option.”
Cyborg said that Rousey’s efforts to duck her would be increased in the wake of losing to Holm.
“I hope [a fight with Rousey happens] for the fans. But if she was running from me before the loss, imagine how much faster she will be running from me now,” Cyborg told Yahoo. “I'm not chasing her anymore. After all, didn't she say ‘You come to the champ?’ I have been a world champion for 10 years!
“I respect Holly because Holly is different than Ronda. Holly is a true fighter that wants to fight the best and because of that I believe she would fight me at 145 or meet me at 140.”
