Gary Kubiak set the bar for Peyton Manning earlier in the week. The Broncos coach said his QB would have a "big" workout on Saturday to evaluate his rehab progress.
Time For Peyton Manning To Consider Retirement
Manning suffered from a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot, forcing him to miss the last five weeks.
That soon may come to an end. Especially after he passed his "big" workout with flying colors.

Kubiak said Manning's workout "went really good." He worked hard throwing and conditioning-wise.

Kubiak said Peyton "worked really hard this morning conditioning wise and throwing wise. ... I thought it was a really good week."

The news couldn't have been more timely. In Manning's absence, Brock Osweiler stepped in under center for the Broncos. After a decent start to his NFL career -- winning three consecutive games, including an OT win over the Patriots -- Osweiler has since stumbled.
A 34-27 loss to the Steelers in Week 15 dropped the Broncos to 10-4 and out of one of the top two seeds in the AFC.
Osweiler will have his opportunity to right the ship on Monday against the Bengals, but nothing beyond that is guaranteed. A legendary arm is lurking and working hard to return.
On if Manning would return to practice nxt wk: "We had a good week, let's go from there ... I won't go beyond that.''
