The first voting for All-Star 2016 was revealed on Friday. Naturally, Kobe Bryant -- who is set to retire after the NBA season -- is leading the way with 719,235 votes, per NBA.com.
The real head-scratching, however, begins in Charlotte.

A vote of the guards in the Eastern Conference sees the usual suspects in Dwyane Wade (300,595), Kyrie Irving (138,191) and John Wall (103,094), but three spots below John Wall at No. 8 is Jeremy Lin (61,832).

Walker, in fact, isn’t even included in the top 10. His teammate Nicolas Batum (20,596) even managed to steal a spot.
Last season, Walker was the only player in the NBA to tally 17-plus points, five-plus assists and less than two turnovers per game, per NBA.com. This season, he leads the Hornets in points (17.7) and assists (4.9), all while shooting 43.3 percent from the field.
In case you needed a reminder, that’s more points, assists and a better shooting percentage than his Harvard-graduate counterpart.

If Bryant’s emotional farewell was proof that the NBA All-Star game is more about entertainment and not merit, Lin’s vote total compared to Walker’s is just the icing on the cake.
