Finally, The Rock has come back ... to WWE?

Well, maybe not, but "The People's Champion" has teased a special belated holiday announcement for his fans this coming Monday after RAW goes off the air. It's unknown at this time what the announcement is, but since he was referring to the WWE when he shared the post, it likely has something to do with Vince McMahon's company.

The Rock and UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey won a Slammy Award last Monday for the "This Is Awesome" moment of the year. The honor came after the duo stole the show at WrestleMania 31 by hopping into the ring and getting into an altercation with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

The wrestler-turned-movie star took to his Instagram account to thank fans for the honor, but he wasn't done there. The Rock teased a "holiday surprise," but what could it be?

Bray Wyatt Could Win 2016 Royal Rumble Match

Here are our three best guesses as to what The Rock is referring to.

1) Host With The Most

There have been a lot of reports that The Rock is unlikely to compete at WrestleMania 32 this year due to his movie commitments. Though that is the case, the wrestling icon is still likely to appear in some capacity, and it would make sense for the WWE to make him the host of the biggest show of the year. "The Great One" did the honors in 2011 at WrestleMania XXVII, eventually leading to his in-ring return.

2) Swan Song

The Rock has had a storied career in the squared circle, but with his movie career as vibrant as ever, he may hang up his boots in 2016. It's possible that The Rock announces that he'll wrestle one final match in the ring sometime during the New Year, which would lead to a lot of buzz and speculation about the date, place and opponent.

3) Holiday Movie

Since The Rock promised a holiday surprise, it could just have to do with his Hollywood career and not the wrestling realm. And with it being a holiday tease, perhaps he's signed on to make a Christmas-themed movie for next season. With him coupling his announcement with a WWE post, it could very well be a WWE Studios film ... though that'd likely be a waste of his time.
