The Seahawks are hopeful that RB Marshawn Lynch, who has been out for several weeks following sports hernia surgery, will be able to return for the playoffs. It’s debatable, however, whether that’s actually best for the 2015 Seahawks.

"I understand from a report just recently that he’s really doing well, and he’s working really hard," head coach Pete Carroll said. "When he’s ready to get back to football, he’ll jump back in."

Marshawn Lynch Is Still Bitter That He Didn't Get The Ball In The Super Bowl

The thing is, the Seahawks’ rise has coincided with quarterback Russell Wilson playing the best football of his career, which is a big statement considering he’s made back-to-back Super Bowls. Wilson has become the focal point of the offense, which was foreshadowed by the Seahawks throwing the ball, and not pounding it with Lynch, at the end of Super Bowl 49. When Lynch returns, offensive line coach Tom Cable said it’s not going to be all about “Beast Mode.”

"I think if he’s right and ready to go and all that, I’ve said this before, he’s a fine football player. And so it’s his ability to adapt to us really, who we are and how we’ve come together as a group and a team."

Russell Wilson Wishes Nobody Had Sex Before Marriage

Wilson has already set a career high for touchdown passes with 29 and there are two games left for him to do damage. He has thrown for three or more touchdowns in each of his last five games, and has thrown five touchdown passes twice. It would be silly to take the ball out of his hands, no matter how healthy Lynch feels.

It’s not difficult to envision Lynch being unhappy with that arrangement, and potentially disrupting the beautiful harmony that’s developed. Christine Michael and Bryce Brown are not even close to Lynch as players, but they’re in no position to demand the rock.
