Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is a convicted murderer sentenced to life in prison without parole for orchestrating the murder of his former friend Odin Lloyd in 2013. He is still facing a host of legal problems, however, including murder charges in a drive-by, double homicide in 2012 in Boston.

The trial was originally slated for January, but a judge delayed the jury selection yet again because an issue regarding evidence on a cell phone belonging to Hernandez is in question. Hernandez displayed some new body art when he appeared in court on Monday, and the new ink is almost certain to hurt his case when he comes before the jury.

Aaron Hernandez Caught With A Shank In Prison

The tattoo of a five-point star with the words Loyalty and Lifetime surrounding it brazenly display an association to the Bloods, which can not help him in an effort to prove he’s innocent of two murders. During the Lloyd trial prosecutors did actually try to use his body art to search for clues or evidence to help their case.

Other stars tattooed on his body at one point were thought to possibly mark off murders he’s committed.

Key Evidence Could Be Tossed In Double Murder Case

"I would say the cops probably see the stars and know in some circles that a star does represent a kill and want a tattoo artist to come in and see if Hernandez said anything about that," said Kevin Waters, a criminal justice professor at Northern Michigan University and former agent with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

At the end of the day, Hernandez is never leaving prison anyway so tattoos are likely the least of his worries. But for the families of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu, the two men Hernandez is accused of stalking and killing, the neck tat may help them find justice.
