Khloe Kardashian has refrained from taking any steps to divorce Lamar Odom because she fears he'll overdose or kill himself if she does, according to TMZ.
TMZ also reports sources close to the couple insist, barring a miracle, the reality TV starlet feels divorce is "inevitable." The only thing holding her back is said to be her trepidation the NBA veteran will "die or be pushed over the edge and commit suicide."
The website adds the 29-year-old Kardashian has largely put her life on hold since all of her husband's troubles began, and at some point has to get back to taking care of herself.
For the first time since rumors of trouble in their marriage began to publicly circulate, Kardashian acknowledged as much during an episode of Keeping With The Kardashians airing this week.
In an episode that aired on Sunday night and likely was shot sometime in May, Kardashian "becomes exasperated" each time her NBA husband's name is mentioned, particularly during one scene when he repeatedly phones her and she scolds him for starting to "bug out."
The couple, who reportedly recently spent their four-year wedding anniversary apart, have been dogged by reports of lingering discord, including rumors Odom has cheated with as many as five women and suffers from a hardcore drug addiction that once had him spending upwards of $800 a day on crack and other drugs. .
Odom, 33, was also arrested on DUI charges earlier this summer that could end in jail time. After spending last season with the L.A. Clippers, Odom is now a free agent and some NBA GMs have previously labeled him "toxic."
Just the same, the 14-year veteran has spent the last few days claiming he is now drug free and looking to again jumpstart his career.
