WWE Superstar John Cena is used to grappling in the ring, but now he could be taking his battles outside of the ring as a legal war may be in the offing between the WWE Superstar and a construction worker who worked on the remodeling of his Florida home he shared with his then-wife Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2010.

TMZ.com reports that the construction worker, Dale Ducharme, was injured under Cena's watch during the remodeling of the home, and he is seeking $15,000 from the wrestler because the injuries that he suffered after falling from scaffolding in the home were so severe that he was unable to work. The site reports that Ducharme is suing Cena, but not his ex-wife, because of faulty scaffolding that Cena provided to him during the home's transformation.

The alleged incident in Cena's home happened back in 2010 before Cena and Huberdeau split up. Ducharme said that due to the unsafe equipment, he fell off of it and was severely injured. He now wants Cena to pay up for his pain and suffering and his disfigurement, as well as the loss of his enjoyment of life. Ducharme alleges that the scaffolding was defective or damaged and that it was Cena's responsibility to ensure the fact that there were no safety issues with it while Ducharme worked on his home.

Cena's been dealing with injuries of his own, as he's been sidelined from WWE television since August's SummerSlam pay-per-view due to a distended elbow and a triceps injury that required surgery and four-to-six months of recovery time. Since his injury, rumors have swirled that Cena may make a comeback to action quicker than his originally reported Royal Rumble return in late January of 2014, but the truth to those rumors has yet to be validated.

Cena is one of the WWE's top drawing performers, so the company has decided to bring him on the road in November during their overseas tour of Europe and he has also been advertised for a "special appearance" in December when the WWE has a show in New York City. While he's advertised for appearances, it has been reported that he will not be actively competing, but rather will probably come out with a microphone and talk to the crowd.

Cena and Huberdeau's divorce was finalized in July of 2012, and the WWE Superstar has been dating WWE Diva Nikki Bella since November of that same year.

TMZ reported that the people who represent Cena declined to comment on the alleged reports of a lawsuit, so it remains to be seen how it will all be settled.
