It took longer than he would’ve hoped -- three years to be exact -- but Marco Fabian will finally live out his European dream. He just needs to thank Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez first.
Fabian -- who made his professional debut in 2007 -- was sold to Eintracht Frankfurt from Chivas Guadalajara for $4 million, per Medio Tiempo. It’s not exactly the Bayern Munich-type transfer that was once within his grasp, but it’s a move to the Bundesliga nonetheless.
Big Clubs ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez Can Join In January
Following the path of Aaron Galindo, Fabian is just the sixth Mexican international to feature in Germany. The fifth was “Chicharito” Hernandez, who signed with Bayer Leverkusen in August.
It’s been an upward trajectory ever since and one Fabian benefitted greatly from.

For all of Fabian’s talents, it’s been three years since he first made his desires to play abroad known. No transfer ever came to fruition. Not even a 2015 Clausura campaign -- in which he finished with four goals and four assists -- wasn’t enough to secure a summer move.
Three goals and one assist in a disappointing Apertura season wasn’t what finally tipped the balance in Fabian’s favor, it was this …

Like a rising tide that lifts all boats, “Chicharito” Hernandez has been flying the Mexican flag in Germany for three months. He just won’t have to do it alone anymore.
