The International Professional Tennis League already was a success, but adding a little tabloid fodder can't hurt.

The second-year league already seems to be a huge success, with several of the game's top players taking part of the year-end series to help them gear up for the upcoming seasons. In fact, Roger Federer labeled the one-set matches in a team format "serious" competition.

Stan Wawrinka's Girlfriend Livid At ATP For Not Suspending Nick Krygios For Lewd Remarks

The Singapore Slammers, however, could have their own "serious" situation, according to vavel.com. That's due to the fact that Stan Wawrinka will replace Novak Djokovic on the team.

A team that includes Australian Nick Kyrgios.

Nick Kyrgios Makes Inappropriate Remark About Stan Wawrinka's Girlfriend During Match

"Facing a potentially awkward situation, Kyrgios has said that he wants to put their differences behind them for the good of the team," vavel.com reported.

Kyrgios and Wawrinka have been at odds since August when the two were engaged in a match at the Rogers Cup in Montreal when Kyrgios was recorded telling Wawrinka that his Aussie buddy Thanasi Kokkinakis "banged your girlfriend, sorry to tell you, mate," referring to 19-year-old Donna Vekic.

She and Wawrinka reportedly had been dating. Both Wawrinka and Vekic had sharp criticism in response to Kyrgios' comments. Kyrgios did not offer any white flags publicly when asked about his new teammate.

"We haven't obviously talked at all," Kyrgios said, according to Fox Sports Australia. "I think whatever has happened has happened. I think we've got one goal, he's a great player and he's obviously going to be the main guy for our team, so I'm going to do everything I can, whether that's me being on the bench, you know doing whatever I can to warm him up or whatever.

"Here, I think we all want to win and hopefully we can put everything aside and just do that."

The Slammers currently are second in the IPTL to the Indian Aces, featuring Rafael Nadal.

Ironically, Wawrinka and Kyrgios will be paired together for a doubles match against the Aces in the final regular-season match on Sunday.

That should add to the IPTL's intrigue.
