WNBA star Brittney Griner is in the middle of a divorce from fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson, but it's taking longer than usual. That's because there is contention over whether or not Griner is the father of their twin daughters.
That was not a misprint.

Legally speaking, Johnson carried the couple's twins, so she had to be designated as the "father," for the purposes of determining child support. Griner's lawyers are arguing that she was "coerced" into going along with Johnson's in vitro fertilization treatments, and therefore shouldn't be declared the legal father.
Johnson's side says that Griner was in agreement about having children from the start, and also expects Griner to pay $20,000 a month in "spousal support," to "keep up the lifestyle to which Glory became accustomed during their 28 day marriage," per TMZ. A judge denied that in court in August, as well as a request for an extra $10,000 for Johnson's legal fees.
Griner Dunks Twice In the Same Game
Johnson and Griner's relationship was tumultuous, with both of them being arrested for domestic violence against one another before marrying a month later. Johnson announced she was pregnant with twins in June on Instagram, and a day later Griner had filed for an annulment. Johnson gave birth to the twins, Ava Simone and Solei Diem, four months premature in October. They both weighed just one pound, seven ounces and are still in a Tennessee hospital.
