Either Tom Brady is being blackmailed by Donald Trump, or he knows something about the man we don’t.

The Patriots QB was once again asked about his personal relationship with Trump on Tuesday. Speaking with Dennis & Callahan on WEEI, Brady doubled down on his support for the controversial presidential candidate.

“Donald is a good friend of mine. I have known him for a long time,” he said. “I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine. He’s always been so supportive of me -- for the last 15 years, since I judged a beauty pageant for him, which was one of the very first things that I did that thought was really cool. That came along with winning the Super Bowl. He’s always invited me to play golf. I’ve always enjoyed his company.

“I support all my friends in everything they do.”

Even if a friend is looking to build an empire by distributing narcotics to the community? Is that engaging in hyperbole? Yes, but is it any worse than the xenophobia and racial rhetoric Trump has spewed his entire presidential campaign?

A politician himself, Brady went out of his way to avoid the most pressing question of all.

“I don’t know. Am I going to vote for him? That’s a very good question.”

Hence why it was asked.

Then again, when your friend’s campaign is littered with gems like this …

You wouldn’t be in a rush to answer it. You just shouldn’t be in a rush to play golf with him, either.
