Ronda Rousey was spotted walking her dog Wednesday morning, and while her face is healing nicely from the beating she took against Holly Holm, some people on Twitter are having some fun at her perceived weight gain.
Fighters do not usually walk around at their fighting weights. Getting to the required limits is a draining, often dangerous process, before fighters then re-hydrate for fight night. In this photo Rousey is sporting a long-sleeved crop top, and her midsection isn’t ripped like it is when she’s about to fight. Whoever is behind the Fanaticos del MMA GT Twitter handle either doesn’t realize the struggle of weight-cutting, or doesn’t particularly care.

We got your back if you’re not bilingual. They said “Ronda Rousey has been working with the nutritionist for Johny Hendricks.” UFC fans know that Hendricks has had serious problems with weight cuts, one of which forced him out of a scheduled bout vs. Tyron Woodley at UFC 192. Hendricks not only dropped from the card the day before weigh-ins, he was taken to the hospital with an intestinal blockage and kidney stones, per MMA Junkie.
UFC president Dana White has become frustrated with Hendricks’ weight problems, and he is currently a man without a division. He’s always campaigned at welterweight – and wants to stay there -- but White said "he needs to figure this thing out. I consider him a (1)85-pounder right now. I do not want to see him at 170 again."
Rousey’s spotting suggests none of the problems Hendricks is having. She’s simply recovering from a fight, and not currently in camp. Once back in training, Rousey shouldn’t have any trouble bringing back the ripped physique.
It’s going to be like this for Rousey until she can get back in the octagon and get a second chance vs. Holm. Until then, she’s likely to see the ugly side of the internet for a while.
