Joique Bell is having to jump over a lot of hurdles just to get a date with Lolo Jones.

The Lions running back and Olympic hurdler have a Twitter relationship that dates back to 2012 when Jones took to social media to critique a move Bell made to jump over a would-be Jaguars tackler, according to ESPNW.

Bell used the situation to try to score a date with the Olympian and social media star, under the guise of making a date on the track.

That relationship was rekindled in 2014 when Jones took to Twitter when Bell hurdled a defender against the Cardinals in Week 11, according to Itsalwayssunnyindetroit.com. And last week, she noted his improvement when he did in the third quarter of the Lions' 27-23 loss to the Packers. Bell's grade has improved from a B+ to an A+, at least form-wise.

But that prompted Bell to challenge Jones to a hurdles race.

"Last year when I hurdled the guy in Arizona, she kind of said, 'Well, you need to work on your trail leg and dah dah dah,'" Bell said on the Stoney and Bill show, according to Detroit's CBS affiliate website. "And so she saw my picture on my form against Green Bay, and she said, 'you know what, your form got a lot better.' Don't critique me; how about you just come challenge me?"

Bell joked about how easy the challenge will be for him.

"What's Floyd (Mayweather) say?" he said. "People be in the gym all day, but give me six weeks and I got 'em.

"I got a lot of respect for Lolo," he added. "Lolo Jones definitely has much respect from me and that's the only reason she got called out. If she didn't have my respect, if I didn't think she had the ability to beat me, I would have never called her out."

Whatever it takes to meet an attractive female athlete.
