Sting's in-ring career remains up in the air. Steve Borden finally opened up after suffering a scary injury at WWE Night of Champions which caused a lot of major concern for the 56-year-old wrestler.

Sting was Ric Flair’s special guest during his podcast “WOOOOO! Nation” and he shed more light on what really happened during the time he was performing opposite Seth Rollins.

As suspected by many, Sting was badly injured during the match. Though many may have already read about the injury, resulting from the power bombs he received into the turnbuckles, Sting revealed that it did come to a point where he felt numbness and the power in his legs deserted him.

He added it came to a point where he would quit on the match. But seeing the importance of the event, he called upon every ounce of energy left in him to try and save the bout.

And now he has to pay for doing so, which may require him to undergo neck surgery.

According to his doctor, Joseph Maroon, there were two spots on his neck that need to be addressed. Aside from that, he also has cervical spinal stenosis as revealed via Wrestlingnews.co.

Looking ahead, Sting could find himself in the same situation as Daniel Bryan, who came back from successful neck surgery. But at 56, things aren’t looking so bright for the Stinger.

He does, however, remain positive, pointing out that John Cena suffered a similar fate before, but managed to return successfully. The difference is that Cena was in his 30s at the time of his injury.

It is unlikely that Sting will ever be seen competing in the WWE ring again and will likely be limited to special appearances with no physical activity. Even if he stubbornly forces the issue, he is unlikely to be given the green light by the WWE as the company has been firm when it comes to looking out for the welfare of their talent.
