The city of Oakland is the one forced to take the final blow to the chin.

"This new, privately financed, state-of-the-art Golden State Warriors event center rounds out Mission Bay as an incredible and diverse ecosystem of technology, health care, science and, now, entertainment," San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said. "The Warriors are inspiring a new generation of fans throughout the Bay Area.

"I can't wait to welcome them home to San Francisco."

Hard to consider a city home when you spent just nine of your 60 years of existence in it. Even Philadelphia -- the city the Warriors called home from 1946-62 -- can make a bigger claim.

Fortunately for the Oakland faithful, there's a slither of hope. The Mission Bay Alliance will be issuing a lawsuit to block the arena.
