Ronda Rousey has not yet returned to full health. Neither has her bravado, it appears.

Rousey hedged her comeback comment a bit in an interview with ESPN The Magazine, via People.

Dana White's Partiality Toward Ronda Rousey Should Concern Holly Holm

The 28-year-old former UFC champion said she's "really f---ing sad" about losing her welterweight title in a stunning knockout by new champion Holly Holm last month, People reported.

With good reason.

UFC Champ Jose Aldo Believes Ronda Rousey Will Retire From MMA

Rousey, who is on medical suspension from the UFC for six months from the date of the fight (or a negative head CT scan, whichever comes first), says she still can't eat normally, much less plot her return.

"The stitches in her lip still dissolving, and a few of her teeth still unstable from Holm's fight-ending kick to the face, Rousey admits to ESPN The Magazine ... on newsstands Friday: 'It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact,'" People added.

So when asked about the possibility of returning to the throne, Rousey didn't sound like the baddest female on the planet, anymore. She exuded reserved confidence -- for Rousey, anyway.

"Maybe I can't do it all before my prime, before my body is done," she says. "But f--- it, maybe I can."

"Maybe" definitely sounds like a new edition to her vocabulary.

UFC president Dana White already has announced a rematch between Rousey and Holm, which analysts are speculating could take place in July of 2016 at UFC 200. That will give Rousey seven more months to recover and refocus. But it also gives her seven months more to think about how long it will have taken to recover from the last time she stepped into the ring with Holm.

Rousey likely will use that as motivation. Her physical wounds should recover, but it's the emotional wounds that leave the biggest question mark.
