LeBron James plans to bring his famous pregame "chalk toss" back to life this season, according to ProBasketballtalk.com.
After becoming noted for it early in his career, James went away from the practice midway through the playoffs in his first season in Miami; with back-to-back titles now under his belt, James tells reporters he is feeling good enough about himself to return to the celebratory gesture.
"It's just me," James told Probasketball.com after the Heat opened practice in defense of their crown in the Bahamas on Wednesday at the Atlantis Resort. "I love my fans and they wanted it back. They wanted me to do it so it's back."
One can only hope James will be so receptive to the plea of his fans to enter the NBA Slam dunk contest held during All-Star weekend. Thus far, The King has resisted pleas from fans and pressure from league officials to lace up for the star-studded festivities.
James, who can become a free agent at the end of the season and earlier this week vowed not to take any more questions on the subject, is also on the cover of the just-released NBA 2K14 doing the toss.
The Heat open defense of their crown at home on Oct. 29 against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls.
