Even Steph Curry wants his name mentioned in the same sentence as Lionel Messi.

The Warriors PG congratulated Messi on reaching 30 million Instagram followers on Thursday, offering an autographed No. 30 jersey to commemorate the achievement. Curry even went as far as inviting the Argentine to an NBA game at Oracle Arena.

Julia Roberts Prefers Lionel Messi Over Cristiano Ronaldo

It didn’t take long for the package to arrive.

Curry’s gesture comes as no surprise. Despite using an entirely different body part to feed his family, the reigning NBA MVP likened his game to Messi’s in an interview with BBC World Service.

"We both have a creative style, where it's just about a feel when you're out on the pitch or the court," he said. "I try to do some fancy things out there with both hands, making crossover moves and kind of having a certain creativity and flair to my game.

"And that's definitely the style that Messi has when he's out there in his matches."

Admittedly, there is an artistic value to watching Curry shatter Chris Paul’s ankles on a yearly basis.

But even that pales in comparison to the destruction of four poor souls en route to goal.

Or five.

We’re not even sure if Jerome Boateng is still alive.

In reality, the invitation to watch a game should be the other way around. Curry might learn a thing or two in Barcelona.
