Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been through tough battles in the ring, some against the best. But who does he consider the toughest of them all.

Mayweather has faced the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotton, Juan Manuel Marquez and of course Manny Pacquiao, all popular names that will likely be in the Boxing Hall of Fame in the future.

But who among the names mentioned does Floyd consider the toughest one he fought?

While Mayweather has been known to downplay the capability of his opponents, he did sit down and have a serious talk with some select journalists when he touched down in Moscow, Russia.

He was asked to name his three toughest opponents and eventually responded with Alvarez, Cotto and Manny Pacquiao.

“I can say that none of them were easy,” said Mayweather via Boxingscene.com. ”Although I must say that Canelo was tough....Miguel Cotto [was tough]. Manny Pacquiao was very tough. Pacquiao is very good. He was better than I thought.”

Mayweather has of course officially retired though there are some who still refute that claim and believe that at some point, Mayweather can easily “unretire” as pointed out via this article from USA Today.

But for that to happen, it has to be something tempting and perhaps better than that lucrative May 2 payday against Pacquiao.

Until something along those lines happen, it is unlikely that Mayweather will be back in the ring soon. He seems to be pretty fine with his life right now away from the ring but certainly not out of the spotlight.
