Mike and the Mad Dog are back ... sort of.
Mike Francesa and Chris "Mad Dog" Russo linked their shows up at the 3 p.m. hour on Thursday and announced that the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" will reconvene for one night only at Radio City Music Hall on March 30.

Proceeds from the show that reunites two of the most well-known sports drive talk show hosts will go the Garden of Dreams Foundation, which Francesa credited with coming up with the reunion idea.
"[The event will include] guests who have had a big part of New York City history, since we got together in '89, big part of our show," Francesa said. "Really headline guests. We've come up with some crazy ideas that we are working on, things you can figure out yourself, but really a star-studded night at Radio City."

The duo is set to make a few appearances to bolster buzz about the event, and Francesa even promised to bring his former in-studio co-host with him to FrancesaCon next month. The host of "Mike's On" had been teasing a big announcement for this week and while it's a one-night only event, it may lead to something bigger.
Honestly-- was there a bigger/better moment in radio in 2015 than what just happened on @WFAN660 from 3-3:40p ET (and @SIRIUSXM) too? #MMD

The two began their run together in 1989 on WFAN, but Russo, who currently hosts "Mad Dog Unleashed" on Sirius XM and "High Heat" on the MLB Network, left "The Fan" in 2008 to pursue other things.
There were rumors at the time that the two icons hated each other, however they have crossed paths since then and this mini reunion will also debunk that notion. One can only hope this leads to a full-time reunion down the road.
