Rex Ryan doesn’t always make the right decision. Trying to give J.J. Watt a disease ahead of the 2011 NFL Draft was just one of them.

Watt -- who was speaking on a conference call with Buffalo-based reporters Wednesday -- spoke of Ryan’s master plan.

Rex Ryan Doesn't Trust His Coaching Staff

"I sat down there and he kind of real casually -- the whole thing was real casual -- and he just said, 'Hey, man, you're gonna be gone by the time we get to pick, so here's what we're gonna do: We're gonna put out a fake medical report that you have some sort of disease,'” Watt said, per ESPN. “I don't know what it is, whatever, we'll make it up."

“And you're gonna drop, but we'll pay you like you're up there [in the first round].”

Coaches Who Would Knock Out Rex Ryan

Leave it to Ryan to fictionally diagnose a collegiate prospect. Then again, you’d expect nothing less from a coach who was guilty of the following transgressions.

Mark Sanchez Tattoo

You would think drafting Mark Sanchez was enough of a mistake, but no. Ryan took a step further with a tattoo of his wife wearing his number.

Foot Fetish

Speaking of Ryan’s wife, a bizarre foot fetish video involving the two surfaced online in 2010.

So naturally, the trend would continue in Buffalo.

Middle Finger In The Air

When you’re the face of an NFL franchise, you might not want to be caught doing this.
