Jahlil Okafor was expectedly penalized for his series of off-court infractions that had come out one after the other since last week.

The Sixers rookie made headlines last week when he was identified as one of the figures in that celebrated Boston Nightclub brawl which saw Okafor fighting at least two people. The incident was first reported by TMZ, which also revealed footage of the incident.

And just when one it seemed that Okafor was about to let that pass, two more prior incidents where the 19-year-old rookie crops up which somehow put a tarnish on his maiden season as an NBA player.

With those detailed incidents, the Sixers finally laid down the law on Okafor, suspending him for two games. He sat out the Sixers’ loss to the Knicks on Wednesday (99-87) and will also sit out the team’s next games, Saturday against the Nuggets, per ESPN.

Though everything seems like a learning experience, it does cast a dark shadow on his NBA career moving forward. Also interesting the revelation of head coach Brett Brown all the details involving the Boston incident were not accounted for.

"As far as the play-by-play of what happened, he did not go into that," the coach said. "Today we learned more. And the thing I do say is that when I spent time with Jahlil in his room today, he's ashamed, he's embarrassed. And this has caught him off-guard."

Aside from that, there was a gun-toting incident at a Philadelphia bar and then one in which he was pulled over for driving over 108 mph.

In all, Okafor has been into some juvenile stuff though much of it doesn’t come as a surprise for a 19-year-old. But considering that he now holds added responsibilities as a professional NBA player, Okafor may want to move forward with caution unless he wants more severe penalties along the way.
