Amid a backstage firestorm, Lana returned to WWE television on RAW this week.
The "Ravishing Russian" returned at the side of her fiancé Rusev, marking the first time she's resurfaced in the WWE since getting into hot water with officials. Lana exposing her real life engagement to Rusev and getting into a Twitter beef with fellow WWE diva Paige drew the ire of the WWE's bigwigs prior to her comeback.
WWE Hall Of Famer Blames Triple H For CM Punk's Departure
After her appearance, Lana blurred the lines between storyline and reality by firing off a tweet regarding her current standing.
No human being will tell me who to. It's my choice & my life & I am proud to live with my consequences. https://t.co/YSrIAOyvkQ

Lana's tweet could be taken from a WWE angle stance as she's telling her fans that her character is in love with the Rusev character and no one can stop them from living happily ever after. It also goes along with the storyline involving her kayfabe relationship with Dolph Ziggler, which was squashed when the engagement went public thanks to TMZ.
Projected Card For WWE TLC 2015
The real life engagement hitting a major news outlet caused the WWE's executives to get angry at the blonde bombshell, and destroyed the storyline between Rusev and Summer Rae, who is now working alongside Tyler Breeze.
There was said to be "nuclear" heat on Lana, so much so that the WWE kept her off of RAW last week in her hometown of Nashville despite Rusev making his return from injury and the "Ravishing Russian" being backstage.
Her tweet can also be seen as a real life dig at WWE officials, especially when Lana said she's "proud to live with my consequences." After the beautiful blonde engaged in a war of words with Paige, WWE higher-ups were said to be very upset, especially with Lana using the term "bully" to describe the Norwich, England native, a word that isn't taken lightly.
After Lana called Paige a "phony," the two-time Divas Champion responded by claiming that Rusev's valet "lies all the time." As it happens, Lana's entire persona is a farce as she's really an American playing a Russian character. That's not unusual for the WWE, but it is in any event a lie.
I'm glad you have an opinion. Too bad you lie all the time. #TMZ #AllYouWantIsFame https://t.co/r1ZozKdxDs — PAIGE (@RealPaigeWWE) November 17, 2015
Vince McMahon was said to be very high on Lana prior to her wrist injury, which was a prelude to her getting into trouble with the company. The blonde bombshell is in the WWE's doghouse now, and may have missed her chance at being pushed to the moon.
If her tweet is any indication, Lana is proud to live with those consequences, even if she won't give up the Russian act completely.
