Fate gave Caroline Wozniacki one last kick in 2015.
The Danish tennis star's ex-fiancé, golfer Rory McIlroy, is poised to propose to another woman less than two years after the power couple got engaged, the Irish Independent reported.

A year after news of McIlroy's relationship with Erica Stoll became public, he could be planning to spend the rest of his life with her.
"Don't be surprised if you hear he pops the question, it's going very, very well," a friend said.

Another source confirmed that McIlroy, 26, and Stoll, 29, seem to have found their soulmates, the Independent added.
"She's a really, really nice girl," said the well-placed source. "Very nice and down to earth and the one thing everyone is saying is how good she is for Rory. I wouldn't be surprised if they do tie the knot. You know the saying 'when you know -- you know' [you've met the right person] and I think Rory is there now.
"She's met his family too. His parents are very fond of her. And she gels well with everyone. You'd be hard pressed to find a better match."
McIlroy does seem to have better balance between his professional life and personal life with Stoll, and that could be due to the lessons he learned while dating the now-25-year-old Wozniacki. The Independent, however, does use an interesting choice of words in describing Rory's involvement in the relationship with Caroline.
"He was badly burned in his last relationship with so much of it flaunted like a running soap opera in the press," the Independent reported. "He learned the hard way not to allow his personal life to become fodder for gossip columns and vowed never to repeat the same mistakes.
"Unlike in his relationship to Wozniacki, where pictures of the couple's daily life -- from their spars on the tennis court to their private life at home -- were feverishly tweeted and Instagrammed for their millions of social media followers, Rory has been staunchly protective of his relationship with Erica."
It was McIlroy, who broke off the engagement to Wozniacki four months after he proposed on New Year's Eve, 2013 -- by telling her over a 10-minute phone call.
Wozniacki continues to draw attention to her love life. She became social media fodder for dating Texans defensive end J.J. Watt briefly last spring. She has not been linked to anyone romantically since, at least publicly. She may be taking a page from the same playbook McIlroy learned.
Wozniacki also had her 2015 season come to a premature end because of a wrist injury that resulted from a finger she cut on a bread knife after ordering room service from a hotel in China.
