WWE Hall of Famer Bret "Hitman" Hart has been known to complain, but this time he's doing it in defense of someone else.

The "Excellence of Execution" recently discussed CM Punk, who walked out on the WWE in January 2014 only to sign with the UFC that December. "The Best in the World" hasn't been shy about explaining the reasons that led to his departure, going as far as to blast Vince McMahon and Triple H on Colt Cabana's podcast last Thanksgiving.

Former WWE Star Burns Bridge By Supporting CM Punk

As far as Hart is concerned, Punk's criticisms of Triple H, who is the company's executive VP of talent, live events and creative, were spot on.

"I'd have to take Punk's side on it. Triple H is a bodybuilder nut," Hart said via the Christian Post. "He goes after the bodies. He doesn't care how good -- and he can look in the mirror -- guys work, he cares how guys look. Punk and Bryan are guys concerned with how they work. It's a different philosophy."

Punk said on Cabana's podcast that he had it out with Triple H several times over the creative direction his character was headed in. The former WWE Champion had a massive following, but never did fulfill his dreams of main eventing WrestleMania, even when he held the richest prize in the game.

All the pent up frustrations led to Punk leaving and despite reports of McMahon wanting to bring him back in the early days after he stormed out, the "Best in the World" claims the company never made an effort.

"The lack of communication from the WWE office was astounding," Punk told Rolling Stone. "They said they suspended me and never contacted me. They were in my town, about an eight-minute drive from my house multiple times, and didn't feel like it was necessary to come try and talk to me, so I assumed that they didn't want to talk to me."

Hart, who has had his problems with Triple H, especially due to "The Game" being great friends with Shawn Michaels during the lead-in to the Montreal Screwjob, is glad Punk said something. This comes in light of The Rock headlining WrestleMania over Punk in 2012.

"I admire Punk for taking his stand," Hart said. "He was the guy doing all the work, every week, going injured, and here's a guy sitting at home -- working three or four times a year -- and you're going to give him the main event at WrestleMania? I'm not buying it."

With the wrestling world behind him, Punk is eying his UFC debut, which was pushed back due to an injury he sustained while training and is expected to come to fruition in early 2016.
