Thanksgiving is usually a time for food, family and friends, but in the WWE, it usually means war.

From 1987 through 1990, the WWE Survivor Series emanated on Thanksgiving Night and saw legions of WWE stars ban together to try and take out their enemies. From 1991 through '94, the event moved to Thanksgiving Eve. Over the years, the holiday hijinks in the WWE started playing out on RAW and SmackDown to disastrous results.

Here are some of the most catastrophic Turkey Day-themed events to ever unfold in the WWE.

1988: Holiday Betrayal

There were quite a few rifts that started to reach their boiling part at the 1988 Survivor Series. The first saw Mr. Fuji turn on his tag team, Demolition, and side with the Powers of Pain, causing a double character switch. Later on in the show, after Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage were sole survivors for their team, Savage shot "The Hulkster" a darting glance when he celebrated with Miss Elizabeth in what served as the first hint of their eventual breakup.

1989: Thanksgiving Day Parade of Fools

The 1989 edition of the November Classic was opened by a hilarious bit that saw every WWE Superstar on the card recite what they were thankful for. It was a beautiful disaster that only holds up all these years later for all the wrong reasons. Dusty Rhodes is classic in it.

1990: Gobbledy Gooker

Not even going to bother explaining this one, just watch the video in all of its ridiculous glory.

1991/1994: Splitsgiving

At the 1991 Survivor Series, Marty Jannetty accidentally caused Shawn Michaels to get eliminated. Michaels got angry at his longtime tag partner and they patched things up, but it was the first hint at his eventual heel turn a few weeks later. Ironically enough, three years later on Thanksgiving Eve, it was Michaels accidentally super-kicking his Survivor Series partner Diesel that led to their friendship disbanding.

1993: Broken Harts

It wasn't a Happy Thanksgiving for the Hart Family when Owen Hart turned on his brothers the night before the big day. Then again, they're Canadian, so their Thanksgiving was actually in October.

2000: Food Fight!

On a 2000 edition of SmackDown, the WWE roster got together for a Thanksgiving feast, but the food never ended up going into their mouths. After an interruption from Tiger Ali Singh, everything went to hell and a huge food fight ensued.

2001: The Gravy Bowl

Thanksgiving is known for football games and Turkey Bowls everywhere, but in 2001, the WWE took it to another level. Trish Stratus and Stacy Keibler got down and dirty in a gravy bowl match, something that would never fly these days during the PG era. It was a happy Thanksgiving for all. Though the match isn't available, they also had a Mud Bowl Match.

2009: Mayflower Mayhem

Though she was a month late, Maryse decided to use the Thanksgiving edition of Monday Night RAW to play trick or treat with the other WWE Divas. During a Mayflower Melee with the ladies dressed up in Thanksgiving garb, the Gobbledy Gooker made a shocking return, and when all was said and done, Maryse revealed she was the one inside the costume. Hottest. Gobbledy Gooker. Ever.

2013: Stuffed Turkey

Titus O'Neil partook in then-SmackDown general manager Vickie Guerrero's Thanksgiving eating contest and he outlasted everyone, including the Great Khali. Guerrero revealed, however, that O'Neil wasn't in for a happy holiday as all the bloated grappler won was a match with Cesaro.
