Lamar Odom isn't getting better, which may mean the Rockets will continue to struggle on the court.
Over a month has gone by since Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Oct. 13, but he still has quite a battle ahead of him when it comes to his health. The former basketball star can hardly speak, can't walk without assistance and will likely need around-the-clock help when he eventually is released from the hospital, according to People.

"Lamar has made some progress, but his cognitive impairment is making life very challenging," an insider told People.
Added another source about his financial situation: "Lamar won't likely leave the hospital for a long time. And when he does, he will need full time care. He can't take care of himself."

That likely means the love triangle that Khloe Kardashian finds herself in may not be going away anytime soon. The 31-year-old reality star was planning on divorcing Odom, 36, prior to him falling into a coma and nearly losing his life.
Though Kardashian is involved in a relationship with Rockets star James Harden, 26, she opted to call off the divorce to support Odom financially as he recovers from his near-death experience.
With the recovery being very challenging for Odom despite the progress he's made since that fateful October day, it appears Kardashian could be in for the long haul. This will likely have a negative influence on Harden and a struggling Houston team that can do without the distraction.
The Rockets have played so poorly this year that it led to the dismissal of head coach Kevin McHale. Houston has dropped six of their last seven games and lost 107-102 on Saturday to the Knicks, which included Harden getting absolutely owned by rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis.
Just one season after making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals, Houston is in complete free fall and sits in 12th place in the conference. Harden, who finished second in MVP voting last year, has had his fair share of struggles along the way and his personal life could be the main reason why.
Rockets general manager Daryl Morey insisted that Harden's life off the court has nothing to do with his ineptness on it.
"One reason people love playing for the Rockets is we worry about what's on the floor," Morey said per Basketball.RealGM.com. "I don't talk to him about his personal life. [But] I don't think that's a factor at all."
While Morey is doing his best to diffuse the notion, it appears something is amiss with Harden this year.
With Odom's health continuing to decline, that keeps Kardashian distant from Harden. That in turn may keep Harden's mind off of basketball and stop the Rockets from turning around a season that is quickly getting away from them.
