Fewer than two weeks ago, Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey told the media that quarterback Tony Romo is "not Jesus."

Apparently, he has changed his mind. And Las Vegas is right there with him.

"Romo made a difference; he made a difference," Mincey said after Dallas' 24-14 victory over the Dolphins on Sunday, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "He is the savior of our season."

Compare that to what Mincey said on Nov. 10 as the then-2-6 Cowboys were preparing to take on the Buccaneers.

"We can't sit and wait on Romo," Mincey said, according to the Star-Telegram. "He's not Jesus. We can't sit and wait on him. There are games we could have easily won without him being there. We have to be sharper and take advantage of every play and every opportunity to make something happen. There are no excuses to how we are playing. We have to get better. It's our fault. We have to suck it up, keep going and get better."

The Cowboys broke their seven-game losing streak that took place while Romo was recovering from a broken clavicle he suffered during Dallas' win over Philadelphia in Week 2. The team is 3-0 in games Romo plays this season and 0-7 in games without him.

Perhaps that is why Dallas opened as one-point favorites to defeat the undefeated Panthers on Thanksgiving at Cowboys Stadium. The line moved on Monday to Carolina as one-point favorites.

"The Panthers are an underdog for only the third time this year and to a 3-7 team. Why? A desperate situation for the Cowboys and an optimistic boost with their leader back," Johnny Avello, executive director of race and sports at Wynn Las Vegas, told Covers.com.

Carolina coach Ron Rivera doesn't share in the belief of Romo as the second coming, the Charlote Observer reported.

"We'll just take it in stride," Rivera said. "As I said we'll play them one at a time, and as far as we're concerned everybody's 0-0 and we'll see how it comes out. It is a little disrespectful, but apparently they know something we don't. We're just going to prepare and get ourselves ready to play on Thursday."
