Dwight Howard, Rockets Chemistry Work In Progress: Kevin McHale Adjusting Offense To Feature New Center [VIDEO]

Add the Houston Rockets to the list of teams tweaking their approach to trying to figure out the best way to make use of Dwight Howard.

The Rockets signed Howard to a four year, $88 million deal in free agency this summer and before he can so much as suit up for his first game GM Kevin McHale is already admitting the team is trying to figure out the best way to get the most for their money.

With a roster that also includes star guard James Harden and established role players Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik, McHale told the Houston Chronicle he wants the team to basically play the same uptempo style they excelled at last season, fitting Howard in along the way and picking their spots for him.

"I think we're going to play basically the same style," he told the newspaper. "We have to get better defensively, and with Dwight we have to have more of an emphasis on trying to get the ball in the post. Through Dwight running and Dwight doing different things, I think we can do that without really having to change our identity. We still want to get the ball up and down the floor. We still want to be aggressive and run the attack offensively."

Howard bolted L.A. and the chance to once again play with Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Pau Gasol to sign with the Rockets for almost $30 million less in earnings.
