Lamar Odom's father blames all his NBA son's recent drug and legal struggles on his wife's reality TV family and adds marrying Khloe Kardashian was the "worst mistake" his 33-year-old son ever made.
Joe Odom also told the website he's convinced the Kardashians have "cursed my boy and ruined his basketball career." In addition to insisting the family's reality TV show put too much pressure on his son causing him to turn to drugs, Odom later castigated momager Kris Jenner as "an evil b--ch" and older sister Kim as a "porn star."
A former post office worker and self-admitted drug abuser, Joe Odom added his son needs to dump his wife if he ever wants to beat his addiction and start his life anew. Several recent reports have indicated Lamar Odom has a "hardcore" drug addiction and was once spending upwards of $800 a day for crack cocaine and other drugs.
"Someone's got to speak out," said Joe Odom. "I've got to do something about this. It's simple. They brought him down. He would be better off without them. Let him go and get his life together. I think the best thing for him would be to have a clean break, divorce Khloe and as a single man try and get his life back together."
Joe Odom later told Radar "they don't give a f--k about my son. It's more about the damage they do to the Kardashian brand. They brought him down."
The elder Odom also took personal issue with his daughter-in-law. "She's controlling," he told Radar. "Those Kardashian women all are. You get married they think they wear the pants. You just bring them your whole paycheck, that's how it works. I saw her differently when I heard the way she talked privately...In public she's nice, but if you see her personally you see the real person come out of her."
Joe Odom saved some of his harshest criticisms for Kim Kardashian, telling Radar: "I heard Kim say they don't have crackheads in their family. That pissed me off. Look at where she came from. We don't want porno stars in our family."
