Contrary to reports that came out yesterday about Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, he did not interview for the Maryland job nor have they shown interest, according to a tweet by Sports Illustrated writer Pete Thamel.

The news is surprising considering the fact that a source out of Tuscaloosa claimed yesterday that Kiffin was all but gone from Alabama. Although Maryland may have been the perfect fit for Kiffin, it would be a shock if he actually accepted the position.

If you take a look at Kiffin's history when accepting positions, most of them have been high-profile jobs such as USC, the Raiders and Tennessee.

So maybe for him, Maryland is small potatoes compared to the jobs he has had in the past.

Kiffin may be a better fit at Miami because it's more like a West Coast job. It's a high-profile position at a school with lots of tradition that would embrace Kiffin and his attitude.

Miami would seem to be a better fit, but who knows if Kiffin even has an interest in the opening.

Besides the Maryland job, Kiffin's name has not been mentioned for anything else. Now it may be because the season is still going on which is most likely the case, but maybe Kiffin is satisfied with his position and is waiting for something bigger.
