Chuck Pagano’s time with the Colts is seemingly coming to an end, but that shouldn’t open the door for Nick Saban in Indianapolis.

The Alabama head coach is rumored to be Pagano’s replacement should Jim Irsay pull the plug at season’s end. Indianapolis journalist Bob Kravitz said as much on Mad Dog Sports Radio Thursday night, per NBC Sports.

Andrew Luck Would’ve Been Happier In Carolina

“Jim Irsay does not believe that Chuck Pagano is the guy who can take him to where he wants to go,” Kravitz said. “He’s talking about not just one Super Bowl, but multiple Super Bowls in the Andrew Luck era.

“Jim Irsay is going to make the next coaching hire. If he brings in a guy who demands full power, like say a Nick Saban -- who I think he’s going to go after -- if he brings in a Nick Saban, he’s going to have full power.”

Andrew Luck Would Be Considered ‘Fast’ If He Wasn’t White

Except he shouldn’t, especially when Andrew Luck’s career hangs in the balance.

Saban’s questionable loyalty aside, his past relationships with QBs are the real cause for concern in Indianapolis. Despite championship-level success, no Saban-coached QB has ever enjoyed a real NFL career.

Bleacher Report ranked the best QBs to ever play under Saban. The list left much to be desired.

10. Marcus Randall
9. Josh Booty
8. Tony Banks
7. JaMarcus Russell
6. Bill Burke
5. John Parker Wilson
4. Matt Mauck
3. Rohan Davey
2. Greg McElroy
1. AJ McCarron

Try finding one of the aforementioned 10 on your TV this Sunday.

Not to mention, this is the same Nick Saban who chose Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees in 2006.

How did that work out?

With Luck’s future at risk, there are better options for the Colts to consider. Even if it means overpaying for him.
