Until now, the only word tying up Jose Aldo on possibly not showing up for UFC 194 came from no less than his brash-talking opponent Conor McGregor.

Just last week, McGregor said that Aldo was already a beaten man and that he wouldn’t be surprised if the UFC featherweight won’t show up on Dec. 12 for their much awaited showdown for UFC 194.

Up to that point, it seemed that McGregor was simply being himself, talking trash and playing the usual mind games on Aldo.

However, Chael Sonnen has somehow gotten mixed up in the melee and he too is hinting that there is actual truth for Jose Aldo not showing up for his match against McGregor.

“I am hearing things from people in Brazil, and in this sport where there is smoke there is fire,” Sonnen said. “Every single time – if there is smoke there is fire, and I am hearing things from people in Brazil…that they are not confident that Jose’s gonna make the walk. I want that fight to happen, I really do, and I don’t wanna start a rumor here…but that’s what I heard.”

Now make no mistake about it, Sonnen has been known to stir up some buzz with his comments though his recent rant does bring up an air of uncertainty. So in short, it goes either way when it comes to Aldo appearing for the fight or not.

It is indeed hard to imagine why Aldo, who withdrew last time around with an injured rib sustained during training, could opt not to show up against McGregor. If he does, it may not only be McGregor feasting on his pull out.

But in the event the he does, he not only loses a bit of respect but most likely the title as well.
