Getting a DUI is a terrible offense. Expecting to get out of one because of who you are is even worse.
Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett did just that when he expected police officers to give him star treatment when he had a run-in with the law over a drunk driving incident on Oct. 31. Despite his star status, the officers weren't budging.

After being handcuffed for driving under the influence, Barrett tried to use his role as Buckeyes quarterback to get out of the jam.
"I'm the quarterback of Ohio State," he exclaimed to a police officer as he handcuffed him in dash cam footage obtained by TMZ Sports.
J.T. Barrett Will Lose More Than Financial Aid After Arrest
Barrett was pulled over after he ducked out of the line of a DUI check point, raising the suspicions of a police officer that was looking on. The officer ended up pulling the signal caller over and eventually arrested him once he determined that he had been drinking.
The cop smelled booze on Barrett's breath when he pulled him over, and he asked for him to take part in field sobriety tests to prove that he wasn't drinking. It appeared from the dash cam footage that Barrett, who claimed he didn't consume alcohol at all that night, did pretty well when walking in a straight line, but the officer didn't see enough to dismiss his suspicions.
That's when Barrett tried to get out of the arrest based on who he is.
"I'm the quarterback of Ohio State ... officer, there's nothing you can do?" he said.
The officers didn't budge, and it was a bad look for Barrett and in many ways his school, for thinking he's above the law.
The officer thanked Barrett for his cooperation and said that his intentions were to not take him to jail, but he still ended up putting him the back of the cop car, where the quarterback unleashed a flurry of f-bombs. Barrett also gave the officers a good chuckle by saying OSU quarterback Cardale Jones would come to pick him up.
Earlier this week, Barrett pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while under the influence, and had his license suspended for 180 days, according to TMZ.
While Halloween was a nightmare for Barrett, everything has been great for the Buckeyes on the field as they've played to a 9-0 record.
