From an MVP to Gold Gloves and Silver Sluggers to All-Star games, Ken Griffey Jr. did everything a baseball player could do during his 22-year-long career.

Even with his playing days long since past, Griffey is still managing to make baseball history. When Griffey gets elected to the Hall of Fame this year, which is a lock, he will be the only first overall draft pick to be inducted.

Griffey was taken by the Mariners as the first pick of the 1987 amateur draft. He would debut with the team soon after as a 19-year-old at the start of 1989 season.

With Griffey being the only first overall pick to make the Hall of Fame, it's safe to say that no player is ever a sure bet to work out. But Griffey was a special case as we now know, and following his rookie campaign the outfielder made 11 straight All-Star Games while being named a Gold Glove recipient for 10 consecutive seasons.

Despite a career with a number of unfortunate injuries, Griffey still manages to sit sixth all time in home runs with 630. While he played in an era with countless players linked to steroids, Griffey's name always managed to stay clean. Through a long and illustrious career, Ken Griffey Jr. was a constant Hall of Famer.
