Kevin Durant was going swell until the injury bug bit him again in the Thunder’s 125-101 rout over the Wizards on Tuesday.

This means that Durant will have to sit out some games again for the Thunder for now as he tries to allow his left hamstring to heal.

Durant played only 27 minutes against the Wizards. Durant was going for a hard drive to the basket that drew a foul. The former NBA MVP landed awkwardly and ended up clutching his left leg, according to Yahoo Sports.

"After that foul, I came down a little awkward and landed on it a little harder than I wanted to, and it pulled," Durant said, according to ESPN.

MRI tests performed Wednesday confirmed Durant had indeed suffered a strained left hamstring that will keep him out for 7-10 days.

It remains however if he will indeed be back soon with Durant stressing that he wants to return when he feels he is ready to play.

He apparently learned his lesson from last season where he ended up sitting out majority of the 2014-15 NBA season.

With Durant out, the Thunder may have to draw more effort from his partner Russell Westbrook from here. OKC (5-3) is set to play the 76ers, Celtics, Grizzlies, Pelicans and Knicks in the next 10 days.

Durant is averaging 28.1 points and 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
