While her boyfriend flings footballs down the field on fall Sundays, Olivia Munn will be getting into sports herself with her first ever producing job.

The CW is developing a series that is executive produced by Munn and revolves around a female sportscaster, according to Variety. The project is yet to have a title, but it is set in 1974 with a female lead who is hired by a New York news programming chief to become one of the first female sports reporters on the airwaves.

The programming chief's intentions aren't all that they seem, however, as the move is a publicity stunt to garner attention for the station. The series comes from CBS Television Studios.

Here are some more details on the main character's journey via Variety.

"She has to learn to navigate gender politics in front of and behind the camera at a time when women were literally not even allowed in the press box," the site writes of the series' description.

Munn, who served as a sideline reporter in the past, will executive produce, while "The Good Wife's" Ted Humphrey will write the script. Stacia Peters, who worked with Munn on "The Newsroom," will also have a role on the show, Variety reports.

Munn has several acting credits, including "Magic Mike" and "New Girl," but this is her first journey into producing.

Munn has covered college football and women's basketball in the past, and she is famously dating Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Now Munn will once again be getting into the swing of things with sports-related content.
