For years, the Survivor Series has served as the unofficial road to WrestleMania. Though the Royal Rumble is usually where the heavy buildup to the biggest event of the year commences, the WWE's Thanksgiving Week tradition always seems to somehow play a hand in the proceedings.

Harkening as far back as 1987 when the fun began at the November Classic, the highly-anticipated rematch between Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan from WrestleMania III to WrestleMania IV was separated by Survivor Series. Andre's big win with his team played greatly into the two wrestling titans budding heads at the "Show of Shows."

5 Possible Outcomes To Rollins vs. Reigns

Even as recently as last year, a major WrestleMania storyline came to the forefront when Sting made his WWE debut at Survivor Series, costing Team Authority its match with Team Cena, and in turn, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon their jobs. This led to a showdown between "The Vigilante" and "The Game" at WrestleMania.

This year, it shouldn't be any different as there is plenty of room for the WWE to begin building toward the biggest event of the year at the second-longest running event in company history.

The Undertaker's 5 Best Survivor Series Moments

Here are three WrestleMania feuds that could be sparked at Survivor Series.

1) The Undertaker vs. Sting

This Survivor Series will be special because it will mark "The Deadman's" 25th anniversary with the company. With his career winding down, Undertaker may have just one WrestleMania clash left in the tank. 'Taker and Sting have long been rumored for a match and with it looking like the "Demon from Death Valley" and Kane will need a few partners to face The Wyatt Family at Survivor Series, Sting makes sense as one possible ally.

Of course, something could go wrong during the bout, leading to a feud between "The Vigilante" and "The Deadman," or they could be a successful tandem and decide to wrestle out of respect just to find out who the better man is. It all depends on whether Sting is healthy enough to compete after his Night of Champions scare with Seth Rollins.

2) Triple H vs. Seth Rollins

For months, there has been speculation that the Authority's golden boy would battle "The Game" in a classic protégé vs. mentor encounter, and it could be sparked as soon as Survivor Series. If Triple H turns on Rollins in some capacity during his match with Roman Reigns, it could either turn Reigns heel, or make both into babyfaces for the first time since June 2014.

Rollins already uses the Pedigree and has shown small cracks in the armor of his friendship with Triple H. The WWE loves to pull swerves at Survivor Series, and a Triple H, Rollins rift could be one that's just waiting to happen.

3) Bayley vs. Sasha Banks

This feud has already happened on NXT, but the ladies deserve a chance to strut their stuff under the bright lights of WrestleMania. Just the storyline alone of their rivalry going from the small scale arenas of NXT to AT&T Stadium at WrestleMania would be enormous. Banks and Bayley tore the house down at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and NXT Takeover: Respect, earning them a right to usher in the Divas Revolution at WrestleMania.

One way the WWE could do this would be to have a traditional Survivor Series bout with Bayley serving as a surprise partner and eliminating Banks. Bayley can continue to go about her business on NXT until "The Boss" reappears and sparks a cross-promotional feud between the two Divas.
