Talk about a possible Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao just won’t die down and now the latest rant comes from legendary and Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach.

As far as Roach is concerned, he still believes that the two best pound-for-pound boxers will at some point in the future return to the ring and get it on.

Despite repeated claims by Mayweather and his camp that the undefeated American boxer has called it a career, Roach believes that money will still win out and lure back Mayweather to another potential clash.

But didn’t Pacquiao also announce that his Apr. 9 fight will also be his last?

On that end, Roach believes that Pacquiao’s next fight will not be his last. Pacquiao announced recently that his last fight would be his last as he ventures out into the world of politics. The Filipino boxer is currently a congressman and will be running for senator in the 2016 May elections in the Philippines.

These recent claims of Roach will be of course up for debate, especially since it once again considers Mayweather. The alleged rematch between the two boxing icons has been repeatedly cropping up but soon shot down no less by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum.

Amir Khan, one of the frontrunners as Pacquiao’s probable last opponent for Apr. 9, 2016, was the first one to break the ice, saying that he was initially walking away from fight talks since he believes that Pacquiao was leaning more on a fight with Mayweather. When news of that broke out, Arum nullifies it and said no negotiations are going.

Then Pacquiao claims that there are negotiations going on between his camp and Mayweather via Facebook, only to be shut down yet again by Bob Arum.

With the recent claims of Roach, expect Bob Arum to come out in the open soon and douse water over such claims.

For what it is worth, not too many are keen on seeing a rematch right now, calling to mind the disappointment resulting from that forgettable May 2 fight. Claims that the fight could rack in money are true but certainly not as lucrative as what Mayweather and Pacquiao took home in their first meeting.

The more important matter at hand is who the Filipino boxer will be facing in 2016. The choice has been whittled down to either Amir Khan or Terence Crawford. Pacquiao and company are expected to announce his opponent either this month or in December.
