Two former partners will clash at one of the biggest events of the year when Seth Rollins defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns at the Survivor Series.

5 Best Undertaker Matches In Survivor Series History

The leader of the Roman Empire is the No. 1 contender for the gold and it was revealed that "The Architect" will put his belt on the line on Nov. 22 at the WWE's annual Thanksgiving Week tradition, which emanates from the Philips Arena in Atlanta.

With the two former Shield stablemates set to clash, here are five possible outcomes for their battle.

5 Possible Traditional Matches For Survivor Series

1) Reigns Supreme

The WWE balked on pulling the trigger on Reigns' big push during WrestleMania season, but it appears version 2 of the movement is in full effect. Reigns has improved mightily over the course of the year, though his promos could still use some work. The WWE Universe isn't fully behind him and the WWE may think about turning him heel, but it also wouldn't be surprising to see him get a straight up clean victory to kick off a run with the gold, which was initially rumored for last March.

2) Rollins Retains

"The Architect" has had some questionable booking as champion, but there's no doubting his in-ring ability as he's put on some amazing matches as the WWE's top dog. The company could continue rolling with Rollins into 2016 and possibly even into WrestleMania by having him defeat Reigns to hang onto the gold.

3) Ambrose Heel Turn

There was a rumor going around during SummerSlam that "The Lunatic Fringe" might turn on his good buddy Reigns during their match with The Wyatt Family, but that never came to fruition. Perhaps the WWE was holding the heel card for the Survivor Series. Ambrose has kind of been lost in the shuffle since the split of the Hounds of Justice and has been booked the weakest of the three. That could change if he has a big moment at the WWE's November staple, possibly at the expense of Reigns. It would follow the narrative of Rollins (WrestleMania), Bray Wyatt (Money in the Bank) and now Ambrose (Survivor Series) costing Reigns his chance at the gold.

4) Game Changer

Triple H could easily help his golden boy Rollins retain the gold at Survivor Series, but, perhaps more interestingly, "The Game" could also screw him out of the title. There have been rumors that Triple H and Rollins are set to feud, possibly heading into WrestleMania, and if he takes Rollins out on Nov. 22 and costs him the belt, it sparks an instant rivalry between them. It could also lead to a double turn in which Reigns becomes a heel and aligns himself with The Authority since he gets booed already, or possibly even a Shield reunion with all three becoming babyfaces for the first time since June 2014.

5) Irish Curse

Sheamus has held onto the Money in the Bank briefcase since June and he's randomly been thrown into a tag team with Bad News Barrett, which could very well serve as a decoy for him to strike. With the WWE Universe thinking "The Celtic Warrior" is occupied in the tag division, it could be the perfect time for the creative team to have him shock the world and cash in his briefcase either on Rollins or Reigns just after he wrests the belt away from his adversary.
