Ndamukong Suh Hits: Lions DT Known For Giving Severe Hits, Doesn't Mind Getting Shots To His Own Knees [VIDEO] 'It's Just Gnats In The Air'

Ndamukong Suh is known for some of the vicious hits he's put on other NFL players throughout his career, including one to Minnesota Vikings center John Sullivan in Week 1 that has been the talk of the NFL for a couple of weeks, but the Detroit Lions defensive end said he doesn't mind when other players target him low and try to take out his knees with a hit.

"It happens all the time. It's not going to stop," Suh said Wednesday to ESPN. "I look forward to it. Look forward to keep making plays down the field. That's my job. To me, it's just gnats that are in the air that keep going after you and you swat at them."

Suh has experienced plenty of low hits in his days as a player, but he knows that's just the norm for athletes in his position.

"Sometimes you hit them, sometimes you don't. Sometimes they run away. Sometimes they come back again. Ultimately, I'm that bee going to find that honey hole. That's what I go and do."

Suh is known for giving out hits of his own as his blindsiding block on Sullivan's knees in Week 1 has been the topic of a debate recently and prompted the NFL to fine Suh $100,000 for being a repeat offender. Suh is appealing the fine and his grievance is expected to be heard on Sept. 24 after being delayed last Friday, according to ESPN.

The hit can be seen here.

Arizona Cardinals right guard Paul Fanaika fell on Suh's knee behind the play during the Lions (1-1) Week 2 25-21 loss this past Sunday, but Suh shrugged it off.

The play wasn't called a penalty, and Lions coach Jim Schwartz didn't mind it either.

"For an offensive lineman to do it, it's legal," Schwartz told ESPN. "He can't do it from behind but from the front, it's legal. You know, is it less of an injury risk? No. But, you know, it's a legal play as opposed to one that is penalized."

Suh will see plenty of action in Week 3 Sunday when the Lions travel to Washington to do battle with the 0-2 Redskins.
