J.T. Barrett was suspended for one game after being arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired early Saturday morning. On Monday, Ohio State announced the QB's financial aid will be forfeited for the 2016 summer term.

One QB Preventing The Heisman Trophy From Landing At Ohio State

That won't be the only thing Barrett will lose following his misdemeanor charge. A spot in the college football playoff will come along with it.

Admittedly, the Buckeyes have more than enough under center in the form of Cardale Jones to take care of Minnesota on Saturday. Even the distraction of Barrett's return against Illinois on Nov. 14 won't be enough to derail the program.

Sophomores Ready To Challenge For The NFL Immediately

The same can't be said for Nov. 21's battle with Michigan State.

It's at that moment -- where personal issues can't intervene -- where Ohio State will fall, opening the door for the Spartans to represent the Big 10. Even head coach Urban Meyer is aware of the personal obstacles that await Barrett.

"I love J.T.," Meyer said, per ESPN. "But J.T. is going to deal with something he's never had to deal with before."

Ohio State will also have to deal with something it's never had to deal with before, failing to qualify for the College Football Playoff.
