Don't be the guy who has those last 12 points sitting on the bench because you took a gamble on a questionable player in Week 8. There are safer options to consider, and your fantasy team -- whatever you're calling it -- deserves better than that.
Below are three players with a questionable designation you should avoid on Sunday.
Jay Cutler Is Too Dumb To Start For The Bears And Your Fantasy Team
Dez Bryant, WR, Cowboys
Dez Bryant, in all likelihood, will return to the field on Sunday, but that's no reason for him to return to your fantasy lineup.
The Cowboys WR suffered a fractured foot in a season-opening win over the Giants; however, much has changed for the Cowboys in the last seven weeks. Tony Romo is no longer throwing him the football. Not even Brandon Weeden will be lined up under center.
Unlike Bryant, don't subject yourself to relying on Matt Cassel. Especially against the Legion of Boom. Play it safe for at least another week.
Antonio Gates, TE, Chargers
Antonio Gates was out of practice ahead of Week 8, an injured MCL on the final drive of the Chargers' loss to the Packers still plaguing him.
Sitting out Week 7 has done little to upgrade his status, so Ladarius Green will be the chief beneficiary from a potential absence on Sunday. Follow suit with your fantasy lineup.
Josh McCown, QB, Browns
Even if Josh McCown was healthy, there's still no reason to start him Sunday.
The Browns QB was limited in practice on Friday. McCown was forced to exit last Sunday's loss to the Rams with a sore right shoulder and ribs. The Cardinals defense will be equally as punishing.
Barring desperation or the bubonic plague of injuries on your team, go with the alternative on your roster.
