Just a week after parting ways with the Dodgers, skipper Don Mattingly has found a new home in Miami.

Fresh of a 92-70 season that got his team to the NLDS, Mattingly has reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with the Marlins, according to Vice Sports. The Marlins are said to be waiting until after the World Series to make a formal announcement.

The Marlins Were Eyeing Mattingly Just Days After He Left The Dodgers

Mattingly still had one year remaining on his contract with the Dodgers, but L.A. will reportedly pay the money he's owed, though it's not yet clear how that will factor in to his salary in 2016.

The signing will make Mattingly the Marlins' eighth manager since 2010. With a series of tumutlous and rocky years after moving to their new city and stadium, the Marlins have yet to find their footing, despite an influx of young talent, including outfielder Giancarlo Stanton and pitcher Jose Fernandez.

Three Big Reasons The Dodgers Fell Out Of The Playoffs That Aren't Don Mattingly

Mattingly's record managing the Dodgers was a solid 446-363 (.551). But considering the different, younger team the former Yankee All-Star will be inheriting, taking the helm of the Marlins will likely be a difficult test for Mattingly, especially given the bad luck that's surrounded that job in Miami in recent years. Plus, given the fact the Marlins' opening day payroll will be about one-third of the Dodgers', Mattingly has his work cut out for him.
