Bud Black, former San Diego Padres skipper, will be the new manager of the Nationals. He will be joining Bryce Harper and Co. in the dugout in Washington.
This is history in the making since he will be the sixth manager for the Nationals in their 11-year spin franchise from Montreal and then later on moved to Washington. He has an exemplary record and was chosen by them to take such an important post.
Before his offer from the Nationals, Bud Black was fired by the San Diego Padres on June 15 due to reasons the team decided not to divulge. This did not worry him any bit since he was able to give the team an amazing record of 649-713 and they have not reached the playoffs yet. He was with them for nine seasons.
Other people were taken into consideration. There was Randy Knorr, Ron Gardenhire, Rick Renteria, Alex Cora, Phil Nevin, and Reds, Cubs, and Giants manager Dusty Baker. None of them could top the record of the 58-year old.

Matt Williams failed miserably over his two year managerial position with the Nationals because of the lack of experience. Regardless of it being his first time to take on the role as manager, it eventually became detrimental to the team.
Black however has so much experience given his record and the many years he has been with the Padres. This was explained by James Wagner of the Washington Post.
No press releases were done yet to announce Bud Black spearheading the team and will be done once the World Series is over.
