We all know that Lamar Odom and Rob Kardashian go way back. Aside from being in-laws, Kardashian saw him more as a 'brother.' Kardashian stayed with his sister, Khloe Kardashian, while she was still living with Odom. So when he found out about his brother-in-law's condition, he was worried sick and is trying to figure out a way to help.
Finally, during recovery, doctors found out that Odom's kidneys are not functioning the way it should. He has been undergoing kidney dialysis since Oct. 13 and is now needing to have a kidney transplant as soon as possible. Additionally, Odom's lungs have deteriorated and had a number of strokes after waking up from a 72-hour coma.
Kardashian willingly wanted to donate his kidneys to his brother-in-law and is ready to undergo all the tests needed to see if he is the perfect match. In order for a person to donate his organs, he must be in a healthy, stable, condition. Additionally, the organ must be in top shape and should be 100 percent functional. If Kardashian passes all the tests, the transplant may happen sooner.
"Rob is willing to do whatever it takes to help Lamar recover. If that means donating a kidney then so be it, Rob has a big heart and he's willing to step up to help his friend," a source told the Daily Mail. While it remains to be seen if Rob and Lamar are a compatible match for a kidney transplant, "Rob is willing to undergo medical tests to find out," according to the report.
