Derrick Rose vows the torn ACL injury that caused him to miss the entire 2012-13 season will not change the way he fearlessly plays the game.
Appearing in The Philippines as part of an Adidas-sponsored promotional tour, the league's youngest MVP in history assured reporters from ABS-CBN News he will be the same "hard-charging, daredevil style player that made him a fan favorite."
"No," Rose emphatically told reporters when asked if there will be any "tweaks" to his game this season. "I think the only thing that's gonna change is my confidence level. I think I have way more confidence when I go out there, knowing I put everything into my craft all summer. I was lifting weights, and training-wise, I think I'm one of the hardest workers, if the not the hardest worker, in the NBA."
The league's 2011 MVP also boasted of improved shooting and an extended range. "As far as shooting, I think that's the only thing I needed to work on," he told reporters. "The only thing I've been working on is shooting longer shots, because I think if people have to come out and stick with me a little bit further, it opens up the court a little bit more, and gives me enough room to create and get my guys open."
