AJ Styles is open to joining the WWE if it's what's best for his family, and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is apparently licking his chops to get a piece of him.

The former TNA wrestler now works for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor, and although he's never joined Vince McMahon's company, he recently said he'd contemplate joining NXT. If Styles does make the jump, which he almost considered last year after leaving TNA, Seth Rollins said he'd love to take him on.

AJ Styles Open To Working With WWE

"I don't talk to AJ on the regular, but I think he's doing pretty alright in New Japan [Pro-Wrestling's] Bullet Club and Ring Of Honor, so he [has] made a great career for himself just doing his thing, doing AJ," Rollins told CBS Radio 105.3 in Dallas, according to WrestlingInc. "I mean, he's someone I'd love to work with, especially at this stage of our careers. I think we're pretty much at the top of our games, so it'd be cool, but you never know."

Rollins has certainly been on top of his game while carrying the WWE's biggest prize. "The Architect" has put on several tremendous matches as WWE World Heavyweight Champion and a bout with Styles, someone who seemingly can wrestle a good match with anyone, would be a potential Match of the Year.

5 Potential Traditional Survivor Series Matches

The former Shield member credited Styles, along with former Indy darlings-turned-WWE Superstars Daniel Bryan and CM Punk for helping to mold him into the kind of wrestler he is. Rollins said the trio is "part of the reason" his style is the way that it is because he grew up watching them on the Internet.

Styles, 38, was a fixture in TNA from 2002-14, but after turning down an "insulting" $200,000 contract last December, he decided to part ways with the company after nearly 12 years. Following the departure, he was rumored to surface in the WWE, but ended up staying with ROH and NJPW.

Given the fact that Rollins has been subjected to a feud with Kane as of late, a rivalry with Styles would be a breath of fresh air in the WWE.
