Jerry Jones again revealed the man crush he has for Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy.

Hardy earned notoriety Sunday, first for getting into what appeared to be a heated argument with injured Dez Bryant during the fourth quarter of Dallas' 27-20 loss to the Giants -- its fourth straight loss since quarterback Tony Romo went down with a broken clavicle -- and then with a ridiculous postgame interview session in which Hardy fielded questions from the media, responding "No comment" to each one.

Hardy also broke into a Dallas special teams huddle after it had just given up the Giants' go-ahead touchdown on Dwayne Harris' 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to berate his teammates, according to USA Today Sports.

Jones wasted no time sticking up for his controversial 2015 signee.

Jerry Jones Says He Signed Greg Hardy To Prevent Potential For More Violence

"Jerry Jones remains steadfastly on his side, claiming that Hardy was simply attempting to fire up the special teams players that he was shoving around," Larry Brown Sports reported.

"He's, of course, one of the real leaders on this team and he earns it and he earns it with respect from all of his teammates and that's the kind of thing that inspires a football team," Jones said.

Bear in mind that Sunday's game was Hardy's second game with the Cowboys after he had to sit out the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's code of conduct policy. And Jones already is calling him a team leader.

Dallas signed Hardy in the offseason, despite the fact that he was found guilty on a domestic violence charge against an ex-girlfriend in 2014.

Jones felt compelled to defend Hardy for comments he made prior to the Cowboys' game against the Patriots, which would be Hardy's first. Hardy made what many called inappropriate comments about hoping Tom Brady's wife and sister-in-law were in attendance at the game.

Jones responded to Hardy's comment by talking about how beautiful Gisele Bundchen, Brady's wife, is and how that reflects on Brady's character.
